I'm just kinda... shocked I guess I feel like I'm about to lose my home.... well, my second fandom home... see it's like this...
I remember My Very First Fandom (it was Fushigi Yuugi way back circa 1998Why yes, I do feel old, thankyou :-P) Fushigi Yuugi was so long ago, my gosh, to think I didn't even know what yaoi was (can you imagine: I spent at least a year in FY and never once ran across boy on boy, even I don't know how that happened.)
Anyway, I'm getting side tracked again. There was this massive archive I think it was called The Fushigi Yuugi Fanfiction Archive and I would spend hours and hours on end instead of doing Homework and trying to pass IB History I was reading from the FYFA and chating in the Beseen Chatrooms (having booting parties and /drink ing Why yes I was a dork, I still am :-P)
Again, sidetracked! Anyway, one day the Fushigi Yuugi Fanfic Archive just up and disappeared and I could not find one single trace of it I looked all over Anipike (this was so long ago I didn't even know what Google was)
I know fanfic archives vanish, I have seen it happen before (To Me!) which I why I am so concerned about GWAddiction
I was on GOOGLE yesterday and I looked site up and google won't link to the page anymore, it just sends you to a warning page that kicks you back to the search page. That's from internet explorer... I tried to access the site from firefix and Firefox won't even open the site at all. The Bulletin Board has been down since July as far as I can tell and the site hasn't been updated since June as far as I can tell. :-( I tried to contact the webmistress(es) but I not sure if the send button is working on the comments page.
I so sad! I feel like GWA is going to drop off the face of the net! There is so much fanfiction there what will happen if the site goes down. series I considered the FYFA my fandom home (even though I had pretty much moved to Gundam Wing by the time it disappeared) just ike I think of GWA as my fandom home for Gundam Wing... But I'm still active in that Fandom. Where will I go? What will I do? lol. I am fairly certain the Gundam Wing fandom relocated to Livejournal but I never went to for a community I was pretty much just hovering around GWA... *sniffle* I feel orphaned.
Ok, I think I'm don't wibbling now. Just wanted to mark this as the day I noticed it was going down in the event the ship does actually sink. (As it stands now I'm not even sure that I was in the FY Fandom in 1998-1999, HELL it could have been 1995-1996! It's very important to chronical these things)
Anyway, no matter what happened I will continue working on all my fanfic. No Worries ^_^
